Halloween Pumpkin Carving| Colorado Springs Event Planner

My daughter looks exactly like my husband, but I am happy to report that she acts just like me at times! Most people that know me say she looks just like me and I laugh knowing full well they just haven't met my husband yet. We took family pictures a few weeks ago with Amanda Lamb Photography and those individuals that said my daughter looks like me have now retracted their comments!

So while she may look exactly like my husband and sometimes acts like him in those obnoxious ways, she does have a few traits of her Mama!  I will admit that I am a little OCD when it comes to my home, germs, and cleanliness. Having a mother with OCD tendencies is never fun for a child, especially when it comes to crafts.
I have never been a fan of Halloween even as a child. My best friend always had the best costumes made by family members or someone she knew while I just borrowed her costume from the previous year. But having a daughter now I have to get in the spirit so she doesn't grow up disliking something like me for no reason! But with the idea of getting in the spirit comes carving pumpkins. The thought of my hands and arms getting dirty while I pull out the pumpkin guts makes me shiver! So I have always tried to find fun and unique ways to decorate the pumpkins without getting dirty. One year we painted them, the next year we glued silly things on them and this year I put Halloween inspired decals on them.

While I think this is fun, clean and enjoyable no one else does. One year we had friends over so the girls could decorate pumpkins. When I pulled out all the decorations for the girls to glue on their pumpkins , my friend said "this is a typical Sarah Viera craft!" So this year while I still did my clean decal craft, I did take Natali to Wishing Star Farm to play, feed animals and get some pumpkins to actually carve.

When we got home Natali was ecstatic to carve her pumpkins. This would be the first time she actually carves one. (And yes, she is 7! Like I said I have issues with a mess!)  Her excitement went from a 10 down to a 4 after we cut a circle in the top and asked her to pull out the pumpkin guts! She said "Ewwww I'm not doing that, it's slimy". We of course made her do it so she could have the full experience of pumpkin carving. With each handful, or rather each pinch, she pulled out she proceeded to get a paper towel and wipe off her hands and then reach in for another handful of guts and another paper towel. Inside I was jumping with joy knowing that Natali was just like me...she hated this mess!

Overall we had a wonderful experience and while Natali hated the cleaning part she loved the outcome!

Happy Halloween and be safe!

Vibrant Wedding Colors | Colorado Springs Wedding Coordinator

I have been in love with bright colors lately. The other day I put on bright blue skinny jeans with a bright yellow sequin top and my husband looked at me like I was crazy! He said: "You are going to wear that?" Why yes, yes I am!!!!! Whats wrong with a little color?

Lisa, who I adore and truly miss speaking with weekly had amazing vibrant colors for her wedding- royal blue and a vibrant green. Dawn, from Hillside Consultants truly captured Lisa's vision with her flowers. I have never seen hydrangeas this green before!

The wedding took place at Spruce Mountain Ranch and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day. The grass was SO green and the beauty of the ranch only added to Lisa's design and inspiration for her special day.

Lisa works at a News Center and for the weeks leading up to her wedding was covering the Waldo Canyon fire with 12-14 hour days. Every bride knows that the last weeks before your wedding are suppose to be the most relaxing, but always end up being the busiest with finalizing the details. Through all the stress and busy days Lisa managed to stay calm and looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day.

Enjoy the beautiful pictures from Tracy Carolyn Photography who did an amazing job capturing Lisa and Ryan's special day.

Thank you to the amazing vendors who made Lisa and Ryan's day so beautiful.

wedding dress | Colorado Springs Wedding Coordinator

Every bride looks stunning and gorgeous on their wedding day. They have a certain glow, a smile that never leaves their face and the perfection of hair and makeup. When I see a bride for the first time after putting their dress on I usually just stand there and stare at the beauty before me. Sarah was no different, her dress was one of my all time favorites!!! The detail and beauty had me in amazement as there were layers and layers of pure perfection.

Sarah and Brian got married at the beautiful Spruce Mountain Ranch on the mountain side allowing their guests to overlook the beautiful valley below. Just like Sarah, her bridesmaids were so down to earth and sweet and the groomsmen were witty and funny. Brian and Sarah were so thankful and appreciative that they made coordinating this event seem like normal every day life rather than a job. It's couples like them that allow me to truly enjoy what I do for a living. Thank you Sarah and Brian for allowing Sarah Viera Event Planning & Design to be a part of your special day.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hunter

Broadmoor Hotel | Vow Renewal | Colorado Springs Wedding Coordinator

I met Beth at a coffee shop and one of the first things she showed me was a picture of her family; her husband and their three sons. As the consultation went on she mentioned each of her sons and how amazing they were, how she loved them all and each of the things she was working on with them at that very moment in time. Beth truly believes in faith, hope and love as her and her husband celebrated 25 years of marriage. What an amazing accomplishment and I couldn't have been happier to have shared this moment with Beth and her family.

25 years is something huge to celebrate in my book and Beth agrees! They renewed their vows on a beautiful day in June at The Broadmoor Hotel and celebrated well into the night with their family, friends and even a few members of the original wedding party!

Beth flew out to NYC to ensure perfection was instilled in her wedding day dress. It was so sparkly, feathery and gorgeous on Beth.

Beth and Carl's sons' helped release any nerves in the air by being their true selves! They were a fan favorite all night with their dance skills.
I love the moment when the groom is to see his bride for the first time. 25 years later Carl has that same look as if it were the very first time.

A few members of the original wedding party were able to join in the celebration. How beautiful they all look 25 years later.

After being introduced they did a choreographed family dance where the boys were able to show off their skills once again!

Hats off to the following vendors who made this beautiful day possible.
